A Bit About Me
I bring over 30 years of experience as an award-winning theatre-maker to my work as an educator. I earned my BFA in Acting from NYU’s Tisch School of Drama and went on to build a career as a Broadway actor and singer. Along the way, my understanding of theatrical creativity expanded to include directing, writing, and ultimately teaching, where I now guide emerging artists toward doing their best, most sustainable work. I formalized my pedagogical training by earning an MFA in Performance Pedagogy from Loyola Marymount University in 2024, where I served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow, teaching acting, voice, and movement, and directing undergraduates in production.
Because of my professional performing background, I’m especially effective at helping students bridge the gap between undergraduate training and the physical, emotional, and financial realities of a life in the arts. I believe the most practical path forward is offering diverse coursework that allows students to discover which methods best serve their individual strengths and goals. My teaching emphasizes efficient, adaptable approaches to character-building, empowering students to expand their opportunities, work with consistency, and enter the profession with both confidence and clarity.
