A Bit About Me
Doug Kreeger's career as an actor, director, and theatre-maker spans more than three decades, with credits on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and stages across the country and abroad. He holds a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he also completed an international residency through the Experimental Theatre Wing, studying performance practice across Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, and Bulgaria. He studied Shakespeare performance at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and earned his MFA in Performance Pedagogy from Loyola Marymount University in 2024.
His scholarly work has appeared in Studies in Musical Theatre Journal and Ecumenica Journal, where he examines musical theatre as a site of cultural, aesthetic, and spiritual inquiry. He is a Graduate Teaching Fellow, an Adjunct Instructor at Los Angeles Harbor College, a member of the Musical Theatre Educators' Alliance and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, and a working director whose current projects include two new productions of Les Misérables in Honolulu and Los Angeles.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i, Doug brings to his research and teaching a deep attunement to ritual, embodiment, and the communal dimensions of performance. His work as an educator is grounded in the same rigor and generosity he brings to the stage.
