A bit about me as a
DIRECTOR
Doug Kreeger is a director with over three decades of experience as a professional actor, singer, and theatre-maker. His directing practice is grounded in trust: he casts smart, capable artists and invites them into a collaborative process where their intelligence, instincts, and lived experience actively shape the work. Years spent onstage have given him a clear understanding of how storytelling functions in real time, and a lasting respect for the actor-director relationship as a shared creative responsibility.
His productions are actor-centered and emotionally grounded, with design, movement, and text operating in alignment rather than competition. He works to establish a unified vision early, then empowers designers and collaborators to bring that vision to life through their own expertise. At the core of his rehearsal practice is a commitment to environments where artists feel trusted, challenged, and supported — because that is where bold, cohesive, and fully alive theatre happens.
Doug's directing and dramaturgical credits include productions at Diamond Head Theatre, Five Star Theatricals, Altadena Music Theatre, Highways Performance Space, Loyola Marymount University, and Center Staging. He has served as Resident Director on projects at the Wallis Annenberg Center, The Bourbon Room, and BreakRoom 86. Current projects include two new productions of Les Misérables in Honolulu and Los Angeles.
